Chief of Player Programs

Purvis serves as the Chief of Player Programs for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA). Purvis played 12 years in the NBA as a member of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and New Jersey Nets.  As an NBA player, Purvis served as a Player Representative for the NBPA for 8 years and Vice-President for 4 years. Purvis graduated from Jackson State University and upon retiring from the NBA, he joined the National Basketball Players Association’s Player Programs Department where he has dedicated the last 27 years working for the rights of NBA Players and helping them address a multitude of issues both on and off the court.
